Folks, for the second time in the past week or so, someone has posted a concern about accuracy in the comments of old, totally unrelated posts on this blog.
If you see something that's wrong, e-mail me at readerrep@kcstar.com or call 816-234-4487. Making a comment here, or on any other story on KansasCity.com or its affiliated blogs, is not an adequate way to make sure anyone will see your concern.

Interesting contrast.
Whitlock apologized for writing his unethical column about Limbaugh, but the Star will never apologize for publishing it.

The Star can’t duck its responsibility.
“This column was not written for or edited by The Star or KansasCity.com, so its content is up to Whitlock and his FoxSports editors.”
Yes, its content is up to Whitlock and FoxSports. But the decision to put it on the Star website is totally up to the Star. By posting the column, the Star is saying that the column meets its professional and ethical standards. Specifically, the Star is saying that Whitlock acted within its standards when he condemned Limbaugh for quotes which haven’t been verified.
While I’m happy that Limbaugh won’t be an NFL owner, I’m sorry Whitlock and others felt entitled to use unverifiable quotes to defeat him. And I’m disappointed that the Star thought the column met its standards. Disappointed but, at this point, not surprised.
VOR, newspapers and news
VOR, newspapers and news websites post and link to things they don't produce every day. That doesn't mean I should address things written for an edited by another source -- most especially an opinion column. It's not my place.
Let me get this straight.
You're not saying (are you?) that the Star can publish anything at all from another source, and it has no responsible to satisfy itself that the article meets professional and ethical standards?
Read what I wrote above.
Read what I wrote above. Whitlock used bad quotes unwisely, and got (wishy-washy) comment from Limbaugh before publishing. I've said way more than it merits already. I have no further comment about this fight between pundits known for their grandiosity. I don't know what's so hard to understand about it.
"I have no further comment."
Derek, given how you have ignored the points I was making (which were about the Star, not you), that is probably as wise decision on your part.
Close, but no cigar
as much akin to stand-up comedy as political commentary
Rush and his cohorts are simply DJs who don't play any records.
