Two readers contacted me today requesting a correction to the election results tables that ran in the print edition on Wednesday.

The reason is that the tables noted Denise Lambert was running unopposed in the North Kansas City Ward 4 city council race. But today Clay County released the certified election results, and it turns out that write-in candidate Thomas Farr won the race. By a single vote, in fact. (Warning - that link is to a big PDF.)

Does this add up to a correction? No, because all the results were labeled as unofficial. And as of Wednesday morning, even the Board of Election Commissioners didn't know there was a write-in winner. However, it's definitely worth follow-up as news, particularly because this appears to be significant historically in the city.

I passed it along to the newsroom, and a reporter is on the story.
